How to: Erase a DVD RW or a CD RW in Linux?

The following steps will help you in erasing a DVD or a CD (RW compatible) in Linux.

What you will need ?

A compatible software,  I would recommend Brasero which has a very clean GUI.

How to get it ?

If Brasero is not already pre installed then you can get it by following the steps below.

Press Ctrl+Alt+T.

In the terminal run this command.

sudo apt-get install brasero

Enter your password for sudo access.

Once installed , run the terminal again by pressing Ctrl+Alt+T then type in the following command.

brasero -b 

You will get a pop up window that will help you to erase the DVD/CD RW.
